Class starts and ends with meditation. Students try to clear their mind while doing meditation and gain power of concentration.
Students will be strictly trained to respect each other, superiors, elders through karate training.
Students will learn to become cooperative in a team play environment by kata (form) training together.
Conditioning exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups, squats will improve student's physical strength, and also give them a lot of endurance.
Students practice breaking boards which require focus, kiai (inner-energy with a short shout uttered when performing an attacking move), speed, power. This practice gives students a lot of confidence when acheived.
During class students run, jump, roll and do a lot of fun exercises.
We do meditation, warm up, Kihon (basics), conditioning, stretching, cardio excercise, Ido-geiko (moving basics), Kata (forms), mitt training, block & retaliation practice, self-defense drills, Buitanren (body weapon parts training using traditional karate training equipment such as makiwara and sunabukuro), and Kumite (free-style fighting). Students will acquire self-defense skills, and also will gain confidence from boosting their endurance and stamina.
